Geometry and algebra of linear maps, vectors, and matrices
Matrices can combine in more than one way. Matrix multiplication, from the last lesson, builds each new entry by combining a whole row with a whole column. An elementwise operation is much plainer: it just pairs up entries that already sit in the same position, nothing more. Keeping those two ideas apart early saves you from a common class of shape mistakes.
