Imagine planting a single straight fence through a garden bed that has roses growing on one side and daisies on the other. The fence does not know anything about flowers. It is just a fence. What matters is only where you place it: everything on one side gets called "rose," everything on the other gets called "daisy." Slide the fence a little and the whole boundary between the two predicted groups slides right along with it.
