数列は順序付けられた終わりのない数のリストです：第1項、第2項、第3項、と永遠に続きます。位置nの項をaₙと書き、リスト全体はa₁, a₂, a₃, …です。小さな添字nは位置のラベルにすぎません — 第1項、第2項、第7項。
